| Itinerary DAY 01. USA/TEL AVIV Depart from USA to Tel Aviv. (Meals in Flight) DAY 02. TEL AVIV/NETANYA Arrival in Tel Aviv airport. Upon arrival, transfer to our hotel in Netanya for dinner and overnight. (D) DAY 03. CAESAREA/HAIFA/MEGIDDO/NAZARETH/ TIBERIAS After breakfast we depart Netanya and drive north along the Mediterranean Sea to Caesarea, the ancient port built by King Herod the Great. Then on to Haifa to see Mount Carmel and visit Elijah’s Cave. We Continue to the Valley of Armageddon and the historic military fortress that controlled the highway between Egypt and Mesopotamia.. Proceeding on to Nazareth we will view Mount Tabor and Cana traveling through the Valley of Esdraelon. In Nazareth we will see the Church of the Annunciation, Joseph’s Workshop and Mary’s Well. Then on to Tiberias for dinner and overnight (B/D) DAY 04. AROUND THE SEA OF GALILEE Today we start by sailing on the Sea of Galilee. We then reboard our motorcoach to visit Capernaum, Jesus’ second home. There we will see the 2nd Century Synagogue and the House of Peter’s mother-in-law. We drive to Tabgha, the chapel dedicated to the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes. We will visit the Mount of Beatitudes, the site of the Sermon on the Mount. Return to Tiberias for dinner and overnight. (B/D) DAY 05.TIBERIAS/JERICHO/JERUSALEM This morning we depart Tiberias stopping at the traditional site of Baptism on the Jordan River. Then we proceed through the Jordan Valley to Jericho, the world’s oldest city. Here we view the excavations of the ancient Canaanite city that was destroyed by the Power of God. After lunch we continue to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight. (B/D) DAY 06. MOUNT OF OLIVES/BETHLEHEM This morning we begin on the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. Visit the Chapel of the Ascension, the Church of Pater Noster and walk along Palm Sunday Road to the Garden of Gethsemane. Also visit the Church of All Nations which stands on the Rock of the Agony. View the Eastern (Golden) Gate and the Pinnacle of the Temple. Drive to Mount Zion and visit the House of Caiaphas, “The High Priest," and the dungeon where Jesus was imprisoned the night He was arrested. We will also visit the Cenacle, the site of the Last Supper and the Tomb of David. We then proceed to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus. We will visit the Church of the Nativity, Manger Square and the Shepherd’s Fields. Then we return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight. (B/D) DAY 07. OLD CITY/JERUSALEM We will have a walking tour of the “Old City” of Jerusalem beginning at the Dungate. Visit the Wailing Wall and see Mount Moriah and the Dome of the Rock, where tradition holds that Abraham took Isaac to be sacrificed. Walk the Via Dolorosa, the Way of the Cross, passing through the picturesque native bazaars. End our day at the Garden Tomb and Skull Hill. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. (B/D) DAY 08. DEAD SEA/QUMRAN/ EILAT This morning we drive dawn to Qumran to see the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1947. Continue to Ein Gadi and the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, where we can put our feet into the Dead Sea. Then continue to Eilat for dinner and overnight. (B/D) DAY 09. EILAT/JORDAN/PETRA After breakfast we drive to Araba border to cross to Jordan. Drive to Petra, “The Rose Red City- Half as Old as Time”. This is an amazing “City of the Dead” with its streets, dwelling places , tombs and temples carved from solid rock. Upon arrival at El Ji Post we will continue one more mile through the SIQ ( natural gorge) and arrive at the “Treasury”. Among the many sites we will see the Nabatean judgment Hall, Roman Temple, the Roman Amphitheater, Palace Tombs and the Urn Temple. The more adventurous of us may wish to view Jebel Harun (Mountain of Aaron and the Monastery.) Late in the afternoon transfer back to Araba border to cross back to Eilat for dinner and overnight. (B/D) DAY 10. EILAT/ CAIRO Early morning departure from Eilat to Cairo, Egypt. As we cross the border to Egypt we are met by our Egyptian guide and driver. We will drive across the Sinai Peninsula and cross the Suez Canal by ferry. We travel along the great Nile River to Cairo for dinner and overnight (B/D) DAY 11. CAIRO/ EGYPTIAN MUSEUM /PYRAMID Today we will visit many sites of a great civilization. Our first stop will be the renowned Egyptian Museum, which houses King Tut’s treasure statues of the Pharaohs and other interesting artifacts. Afterwards we will visit the Cheops Pyramid and the magnificent Sphinx. In the afternoon we will drive through the Old Cairo to Khan El-Khalili bazaar, the 12th century Citadel, Ben Ezra Mosque and the AMR Mosque. We will also see Republic Square, Abdin Palace, Sultan Hassan Mosque and El Azhar University. Dinner and overnight in Cairo. (B/D) DAY 12.CAIRO/USA Depart for our flight back to USA. We bring back with us memories of exciting and rewarding experiences. This region will be more understood now as we read history, scripture and current events.
